The brief
The development of the campaign was already at an advanced stage when the client needed something different to attract attention to the promotion and to give the campaign an early boost. The requirement was for a spring-loaded 'pop-up' counter top display that had to be produced to a tight delivery deadline and within budget. This deadline would place a limit on the amount of hand assembly time allowed for the job and the limited budget would affect the choices of materials to use in the construction.
The answer
The message was printed on a 'throw out' section that was held closed by a Velcro fastener. Once released by the customer, the lid would spring open through the use of a flat semi-rigid PVC strip.
The approval
There was no time to waste on this project. In order to meet the delivery requirement it was necessary to move quickly from concept to brief, then to prototype and approval and finally deliver an order for 3,500 fully assembled units all within a period of nine working days. This deadline was achieved to the satisfaction of the client. |
